Love you 3000! The True fans of the former Outkast member André 3000 are going to want to head to the Kiva Auditorium in Albuquerque, New Mexico on Friday, September 27th. That’s when André 3000 and New Blue Sun are going to be taking the stage to hit you with some smooth jazz. If you want to have a really chill evening listening to tunes played by one of the biggest names in modern rap music, the Kiva Auditorium is the place to be. You read that one right! It’s a jazz concert with André 3000 as the frontman. This might be one of the most unique experiences that are coming to the Kiva Auditorium in all of 2024.

This is actually the second year that André 3000 embarks on tour with New Blue Sun. By the way, the name of the “band” is the same as André's newest album. If you haven’t listened to the album, you don’t need to worry too much. In fact, the show’s actually a full freestyle set where all the musicians that are going to be on stage, including the likes of Carlos Niño, Nate Mercereau, and others, will be showcasing their talents. Since it’s a freestyle show, they don’t necessarily play set tracks from the 2023 album. What this also means is that there are a ton of ways that this show could go. It all depends on how some of these guys are feeling on this particular Friday night in Albuquerque.
Another cool element to most of these shows is André 3000 and his “breaks” to talk about life and give some brief history of how the project came together. This can provide an element of interaction with the audience that you certainly would not have in Outkast shows. Since the Kiva Auditorium is more of a cozy theater setting, it does allow for the night to have a “personal” touch, which is very helpful for a jazz concert. A lot of times, what 3000 will do is burst into a monologue to feel the vibe of the crowd and guide them through the experience.
